Public Relations Committee: This is a new committee and much needed force to direct the marketing and public relations activities of the chapter.
Newsletter Committee: TRIHRA’s newsletter will be available via website, fax or e-mail. We will publish promotions, kudos, and HR news in our community and surrounding areas. Our intent is to publish at least three times a year. Chair - Nikki Kiefer, PHR, Sedona Staffing.
Diversity Committee: This committee is in the forming stage. The committee will provide a resource of information on the broad range of Diversity issues, events and the far-reaching impact it has on individuals and corporations. Chair - Ron Collins, Loras College.
Website Committee: This is a committee to maintain a website for our Chapter. Members do not have to be technical or have experience developing a website - the only requirement is bringing your ideas for what you think would be beneficial to have on our website. The committee will work directly with Larry Herzog at IASHRM (he is the technical expert) to guide us with the development and the maintenance of this site.
Program Committee: This committee is the mainstay of our chapter. The members involved on this committee are responsible for surveying the membership for interesting topics and setting up speakers/ seminars for our monthly meetings. This committee ensures that we continue to have interesting and up-to-date topics for the education of our members. Chair Jodi Till, Corporate Trainer, Medical Associates.
Legislative Committee: This committee stays apprised of current legislation in the state and federal government that affects our field. The members of this committee would provide brief updates at our monthly meetings. Chair - Troy Smith, PHR, Luther Manor.
Certification Committee: This committee exists when individuals from TRIHRA are interested in being certified for the PHR or the SPHR. It is a study group that gets together on an agreed upon schedule to prepare for these exams. If you are interested in becoming certified this year, please check this committee on the membership application and we will forward this information to the Committee Chair, Krista Weber, PHR, Dupaco.
Membership Committee: This committee is designed to recruit new members to TRIHRA. The committee would work with the Board of Directors to identify potential members and contact these individuals to discuss the benefits of belonging to TRIHRA. Chair - Julie Hartlep, Quebecor World.
Nominating Committee: This committee is active in the fall for a short period of time. Its purpose is to identify potential board members and coordinate the nominating and voting process of the membership. Chair - Nikki Kiefer, PHR, Sedona Staffing.
School to Work Advocate: Oversees the chapters' educational-related initiatives making TRIHRA visible in the schools and community. May visit with students and advise them of the basic skills they will need in the work force. May speak about interviewing, resume writing, teamwork, communication, customer service, etc.
Work Force Readiness Committee: : Monitors and evaluates on a continuing basis local activities concerning workforce readiness issues and plans and encourages chapter involvement and activities impacting the workforce readiness arena. Works in cooperation with state SHRM workforce readiness advocate and other Iowa Chapter advocates. Serves as an appointed member of the chapter. Chair - Mary Lee Roth, Quebecor World.
